Shipping policy

We ship most in-stock orders within two (2) business days. As a small business, there may be times when order shipments cannot be filled due to staff shortages, scheduled time-off, illness or otherwise, but we will make every attempt to alert customers to this before the purchase. If an order is received and we cannot ship your order in a reasonable amount of time we will notify you about the delay and provide an estimated date or option for a refund.

We also reserve the right to ship by any equivalent shipping method to optimize delivery time and cost. In general, our shipping partners are UPS and USPS.

Local delivery will be performed by our staff, or common carrier if necessary.

Damaged Shipments

We go to great effort to make sure your order is properly packaged and safely delivered. Furthermore, we insure all shipments to our customers to cover damage in the event that it occurs. However, sometimes accidents happen and products arrive in unsatisfactory condition.

In the event that you receive a shipment that has been damaged please photograph and document the damage immediately and (if possible) before opening a damaged container, and notify us IMMEDIATELY. This will allow us to facilitate an insurance claim with the carrier.

  • Inspect Your Order Immediately: Please check the condition of your package upon arrival, before using or gifting items.
  • Retain Packaging: If your product arrives damaged, do not throw away the packaging or internal packing materials. Shipping insurance claims require photos of all packaging, including the internal packing materials.
  • Take Photos: Photograph the box from all sides, the internal packaging, and the damaged items themselves. Clear, detailed photos are crucial for our insurance claim process.
  • Contact Us Right Away: If your shipment arrives damaged, please email us within 48 hours with your order number, photos, and a detailed description of the damage. We encourage you to reply to your order confirmation email to include your order information automatically.
  • Insurance Requirements: Our insurer may require you to complete an affidavit or provide additional documentation. Fulfilling these requests promptly helps us process your claim more quickly.
  • Before we can issue a refund for damaged products we must have your cooperation to obtain the information above. We cannot guarantee coverage if you dispose of the products, packaging or are unable to provide sufficient proof of the damage.

Oversize Shipping Charges

The cost of appropriate packaging materials as well as shipping carrier charges for large, relatively lightweight products (known as "dimensional weight") has made it difficult for us to fairly-price these oversize products. As a result we have implemented an "oversize shipping charge" that will be applied for orders where the SUBTOTAL OF ITEMS PURCHASED is less than $150. We apologize for this fee but appreciate your understanding.

International and Remote Orders

We are happy to work with customers around the world. If you live outside of the continental United States, please contact us at sales@holdentool.com for a personalized quote. We are able to provide typical documentation for importation to most countries, but at this time do not collect or pay duties and taxes that may be required by your destination country. You would therefore be contacted by the shipping carrier and/or your local government agency to pay the required taxes before delivery, and these would not be represented as part of our quotation.
